Join us for a very special two-day workshop with Jan Lawnikanis the 25th & 26th of October. Jan is conducting a two-day workshop where we will analyse the methods of UK artist Shirley Trevena (https://shirleytrevena.com/) and emulate her painting approach to provide students a greater appreciation for her unique style and introduce some interesting ways of painting in watercolour. The workshop will start with some small exercises, after which each student will work on their own interpretation. Jan will supply some still-life objects and background patterns for this workshop, but students are welcome to bring any favourite objects and/or fabrics for a still-life. Day 1: The workshop will begin with a handout featuring information about Shirley Trevena’s style and techniques. This will be followed by a few quick exercises to practice Shirley’s methods, then arranging and photographing props. Students will sketch their own unique still-life before starting the watercolour process. Day 2: The focus on day two will be painting and refining artworks. Students can work at their own pace and may finish more than one painting. Level: All levels are welcome, but the course may be challenging for very new beginners. Materials: A materials list will be circulated nearer the time Time: 9 am (for 9.30 start) to 4 pm each day Cost: $200 for members for both days $250 for non-members for both days Morning and afternoon tea are provided, but please bring a lunch along. Transfer Policy We understand that sometimes plans change. If you find that you are unable to attend a workshop or class that you've registered for, you have the option to transfer your spot to another available class or workshop of equal value. Transfers must be requested at least 72 hours before the start of the original class or workshop. No Refunds Please note that we do not offer refunds for any of our workshops or classes. Once a purchase is made, it is final. However, you are welcome to transfer your registration as per the above policy.
